Consular Services

Consular Services charter

We only provide consular services to Australian permanent residents in the event of a crisis overseas. This may include government-assisted evacuations when provided to Australian citizens.

The Consular Services Charter outlines the consular services and assistance provided by the Australian Government. In some circumstances, our assistance may be limited.

If you’re a dual national, we will only be able to assist you in your country of other nationality in exceptional circumstances.

Passports and Notarials

Notarial services are legal acts which allow a written record to be used for official or legal purposes. This includes using a document in a court of law. The Australian High Commission in Nuku’alofa can provide some notarial services on a fee-for-service basis.

Australian passport applications can be lodged at the Australian High Commission Nuku’alofa
